Courage and commitment in the treetops
Jan 22nd, 2008 | By Eva Skalsky | Category: Articles in English | Trackback URLFor 24 days our research team travelled through South Africa and really spared no efforts. Its itinerary took them from the very north to the Cape of Good Hope. The many adventures and stories of this journey are now waiting to be told in a new magazine which will be published in the second half of the year of 2008. Of course, the travel schedule listed many face-to-face meetings with colleagues and partners from South Africa as well.
In Tsitsikamma National Park between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, the members of our team faced a real challenge: 30 metres above the firm ground and at a speed of up to 90 kilometres per hour, they swished through the treetops – supported only by 6-millimetre-thick steel ropes! This borderline experience is called ‘canopy’ and definitely makes some adrenalin rush though one’s veins. You can look forward to the up-coming story even now!
