The ITB is the ultimate trade fair for tourism: 177,891 guests from 186 different countries came to the exhibition halls in Berlin. There was only one thing that took the visitors by surprise: all the means of public transport in the capital were hit by strikes. The traffic chaos cast a cloud over the popular and renowned event. Thanks to 7,000 taxis and comfortable shoes our fair team defied the labour dispute and contributed a few topics to the conversations of professional visitors and exhibitors.

In August 2008 knoefler-journalist is going to launch the magazine series ‘entdecke – die Reisemagazine’. At the ITB we introduced selected clients to this completely new concept. The topic of our first issue is going to be the rainbow republic of South Africa. But apart from our own project, we had many files and documents of our customers in our luggage as well. Furthermore, we established contact with more than 50 journalists from all over the globe with whom we’ll stay in close touch. The long days in Berlin were definitely worth our while.
