Our Christmas present to Mother Nature

Our faithful blog readers are probably well aware of the fact that sustainability has always been a core element of our corporate philosophy. Our computers are extremely energy saving, printers are set to duplex printing and we are supplied with green electricity by wind turbines to power our electrical equipment. But since the world extends beyond the threshold of our office, we try to take our commitment for the protection of the environment one step further.

This year we have once again decided to give up the common practice of exchanging Christmas gifts with our clients. Instead, we made a donation to the Hamburg-based non-profit organisation Rettet den Regenwald e.V. (Rainforest Rescue) on our clients’ behalf. The organisation takes a stand for protecting the rainforest which is home to man and a large number of animal species alike. In addition, the earth’s green lungs play an important role in our plant’s ecological balance.

With this year’s donation we support the organisation’s efforts in combating the progressing deforestation in Borneo. Illegal slash-and-burn agriculture threatens endangered species like the organutan as well as the living environment of the local inhabitants. The organisation from Hamburg supports local partners in their fight against corruption and crime. Only recently Regenwald e.V. has been awarded highest marks by the German consumer magazine Öko-Test – a distinction which has convinced us that our donation will be in good hands.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
